Executive Summary — Jim Early
Jim has extensive academic training and experience in finance and accounting, having begun as a trained auditor with a big-Four CPA firm, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and continuing in progressive stages of financial management after receiving his MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. Jim has built finance teams for several companies, both public and private, and has been successful in recruiting top talent and implementing best-practice financial systems to ensure timely, accurate and high-quality financial reporting. In addition to his strengths in financial reporting, coordinating audits and improving internal controls, Jim has designed and prepared key financial models that have resulted in significant acquisitions and timely financings as well as other key financial decisions at the board and senior management levels. He has spent significant time in four industries, pharmaceuticals/life science, health care, consumer products and real estate development, and understands the key operating issues in each, having served on two senior management teams. He has a solid grasp of cost accounting for manufacturing and has implemented several accounting and financial reporting systems for manufacturing companies. Jim also has hands-on operational experience including pharmaceutical manufacturing supply chain experience in the US and Canada and in running a logistics team handling import/export/trans-shipments in South America. He is conversant in Portuguese.
